Two weeks. Two weeks until the dead stir in their graves and emerge into the land of the living. Two weeks until your doorbell makes a whole lot of new friends. Two weeks until your coworker makes a questionable costume decision at the office party. Hopefully you get the point by now.

Halloween is just two weeks away.

So, if you’re someone who’s made the bold decision to host a Halloween party, we’re here to help you out. Well, at least with the booze part. Here are our helpful hints:

Make your punch ~glow~
If you’ll be using black lights to set the mood of your shindig (and lets be real, why wouldn’t you be?), you’re already one step closer to making glow in the dark drinks. Science tells us that pretty much any food or drink that contains chemicals like guanine or chlorophyll can glow in the dark. For a jump start, try using any of these as mixers, chasers, or in-betweeners:

  • Mountain Dew
  • Any energy drink or sports drink with B vitamins
  • Tonic water
  • Club soda
  • Milk
  • Most food coloring

Eye spy something spooky
For some reason, eyeballs have become one of the more creepy ways to spread Halloween cheer (fright?), so we have some delicious ways you can incorporate them into your fine affair.

  • The simplest way to do this is to turn your drinking game ping pong balls into eyeballs themselves! Just grab a sharpie or two and go to town. And if you can’t seem to find your artistic side, allocate this job to someone else.
  • Or, if you’re feeling a little bit more ambitious, concoct up some tasty eyeball jello shots. This one is a little tricky, so we think you better get the exact instructions here. But, as far as ingredients, you’ll need:
    • 500 ml vodka
    • blue food coloring
    • 395 g of sweetened condensed milk
    • 2 tbsp unflavored gelatin powder
    • chocolate syrup
    • grenadine

Pumpkin savvy
With pumpkin well on its way to taking over the world, we might as well help it along. While these festive gourds are mostly known as passive decorations, they can also play important roles in your boisterous bash.

  • Your first option is to throw away your igloo and make yourself a pumpkooler. It’s pretty straight forward; all you’ll need is the biggest pumpkin you can find, a serrated knife, and a plastic or glass bowl. Cut off the top third of the pumpkin, gut the inside, and place your bowl inside. If you’re having any difficulty fitting the bowl in, use your knife to carefully shave down the inside. Add ice and beer and you’re ready to go.
  • Or, if you’d like to really wow your guests, you can make your very own pumpkeg. Follow the step by step instructions here.

Drinks are the most important part, right?
Right. Boo-worthy bevs are what makes halloween just as fun for adults as it is for kids. We’re pros at making these drinks, so have a look and make whatever tickles your fancy.
