PumpkinPatch

We’ve never met a spiked punch we didn’t like, and this Spiced Pumpkin Punch is no exception. Let this fall recipe help you celebrate the onset of crispy air, apple picking, and of course Halloween costume prep. Consider this the halfway point, we have 16 days until kids are out running wild with sugar highs and we think you need a treat of your own. This punch will give you the kick you need to get through the month.

Don’t let the pumpkin puree scare you, there is just enough to give you a touch of pumpkin flavor without the thick texture. Plus, with the amount of bourbon in this cocktail, it will be hard to hold back a smile. Depending on how many glasses you have, the effects of its magic may or may not wear off by midnight.

Ingredients:
1 ounce pumpkin puree
1 teaspoon honey
1 ounce fresh lemon juice
2 ounces bourbon
3 ounces ginger beer
1/8 teaspoon grated fresh ginger (or ground ginger)
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Garnish: (optional) 1 cinnamon stick Sage leaves Dash of ground

Place all of the ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously. (If you don’t have a cocktail shaker, don’t panic. Just use a teaspoon to really mix things up.) Strain ingredients over ice in a rocks glass. Garnish your cocktail with a cinnamon stick and a couple sage leaves if you’re feeling fancy. An extra dash of cinnamon never hurts either.
