The newest bar on the block is an old friend with a different look. As we all know, Starbucks has always been a go-to option for a trustworthy cup of joe. Lately, Starbucks has realized that when the sun goes down people are reaching for a beer or a glass of wine, not a latte.

The first wine and beer offerings kicked off a few years ago. We were pumped then and after initial success with the idea, Starbucks is planning on expanding this concept to thousands of locations across the country in the next two years. “Starbucks Evenings” will kick off after 4 p.m. and will feature an additional new menu featuring appetizers, deserts, and you guessed it: beer and wine. There are rumors of truffle mac & cheese as well as cheesecake brownies. We’re so there.

We think Starbucks may be in the front of the pack with this new trend plus it’s well known that wine is the easiest way into our hearts. Even though they’re just doing it for the money (a glass of wine is much more expensive than a cup of coffee), we’re still pumped.

While there are no plans beyond wine and beer, we’re hoping to see some coffee cocktails in the future. How do you feel about Starbucks doubling as your local bar and coffee shop? Will Starbucks Evenings be a part of your nightlife?
