Scheduled for mid-August, Dogfish Head Craft Brewery will release the first (commercially brewed) beer inspired by pear. Piercing Pils is a perry pilsner, meaning that it is made with fermented pear juice, an ingredient that definitely reflects their motto of “off-centered ales.” For those of us who enjoy fruitier beers, we expect that this new brew won’t disappoint.
Initially Pericing Pils will be on tap at their Rohoboth Brewery in Delaware, but there’s hope that the brew will make its way across the country in the future.
