Some people buy their favorite uncles gifts and others name a gin after them. Lucky for us President of TOG wine group, August Sebastiani is sharing his handcrafted gift with everyone.
Uncle Val’s botanical gin combines juniper, cucumber, lemon, sage and lavender to give it a unique flavor. The new spirit is now available nationwide in restaurants and high-end shops for $35-$40 a bottle.
We’re pretty excited to see what Val’s made of. Who’s with us?
Uncle Val’s Botanical Gin is the best gin I’ve ever had, I enjoy a lot of other brands, but Uncle Val’s stands head and shoulders above the rest. I’ve poured some for six different people and they all loved it!!! Four of them used to hate gin and thanks to Uncle Val’s, they now enjoy it!!! Cheers on making a great gin!!!!
Nice, we’re looking forward to adding this to our tonic all Summer long.
Cheers,
DIA
The owner of the local alcohol connoisseur’s shop urged me to taste this last night because I mentioned drinking martinis in passing. I used to rely on Bombay Sapphire but could hardly stand the taste unless iced and mixed with sake.
He poured a bit in a glass, swished it and passed it over without any ice or water. I raised my eyebrow, but gave it a try.
It was the most mesmerizing sip I’ve ever had.
Sounds like you’ll be sipping Uncle Val’s straight from now on.
Cheers,
DIA
I’m a martini lover from years back. I was in a tiny bar in a Georgia mountain tourist town. I saw this odd little bottle and read the label out loud, “Uncle Val’s Botanical Gin” the woman next to me turned slowly, wide eyed and said, “Have you tried it”? I looked at her expression and replied, “No but I I have the feeling I should”. This is probably the only gin that I would EVER drink over ice with a water back. The taste is unique, refreshing and appealing. The juniper is light and pleasant and the taste of cucumber is refreshing and evident. Without a doubt it makes one of the best martinis I’ve ever tasted.
I had three exceptional gins lined up in a local store: The Botanist Islay Gin, Hendricks, and Uncle Val’s Botanical.
I chose the Botanist. Was in love; a truly herbal London dry gin with subtle herbal blends and a very smooth spirit mouth feel. Then I bought Hendricks; lovely and expected, the rose notes toss me off a bit, along with the powerful cucumber. I bought Uncle Val’s as a nod to trying all three, with not much enthusiasm (after all what can Americans add to a long list of gin history!). WHOA! This is absolutely meserizing; an herbal shift with cucumber and minty notes (lavender-juniper?) swirling about in a luxuriously smooth spirit. This is the most stunning gin I have had in years, and leaves the peculiar, but interesting Hendricks, and the subtle but now, rather ordinary Botanist in the dust. Amazing. Don’t wait to try this! BRAVO!
tastes like lemoncello, wish I had something to mix it with
not impressed…but seeking guidance please
