Don’t be deceived by this drink’s nickname, the Hillbilly Mimosa. This great way to punctuate the summer is a “class act,” says reviewer eatlovedrink.com.

“Hillbilly?” Explain.

Well, many of these concoctions begin with Bud or PBR. But there’s one at the Commonwealth Café in Oakland, CA that uses wheat beer (like Ale Industries’ Orange Kush), is brewed with orange peels, chamomile and coriander.

Really, any sort of lighter wheat beer (like a hefeweisen) is great. A blonde ale or a summer ale will also do the trick.

It also gets high marks for ease. In the time it took you to read this, you could have made one.

Beermosa

serves: 1

  • 8 oz beer (or 2/3 of your glass)
  • 4 oz orange juice (or 1/3 of your glass)
  • optional orange wedge or a berry for garnish (try floating a raspberry)

Find a pint glass, or something similar. Fill it 2/3 full with beer, top it off with OJ and give it a quick stir. Garnish. Drink. Repeat.
