LUPEC (Ladies United for the Preservation of Endangered Cocktails) is “a classic cocktail society dedicated to breeding, raising, and releasing nearly extinct drinks into the wild (a.k.a. area bars and restaurants).”
Founded in 2001, LUPEC is a female-oriented cocktail society. The ladies of LUPEC meet roughly once a month to sample delicious cocktail creations from a bygone era, and educate themselves about the important and nearly forgotten forebroads who sipped them.
In addition to preserving their own personal Joie de Vivre by guaranteeing members one good cocktail party every month, LUPEC strives to enhance and improve the lives of women through fundraising events for local women’s charities.
There are seven (to our knowledge) LUPEC chapters in Boston, Pittsburgh, Washington D.C., New York, Denver, Portland and Seattle.
Join the club. Google “LUPEC” and one of the above city names to find out what they are up to next.
LUPEC was founded in Philidelphia in 2001. Boston’s chapter came 6 years later.
