What do you get when you remove wine’s pretentious connotations, throw in some good music and uncork an evening of fun? SecondGlass’s Wine Riot, duh.

The Wine Riot encourages people to drink more wine and have more fun doing it. Now rioting in 5 different cities (LA, Boston, Chicago, New York and DC – see tour dates below), the Wine Riot welcomes sniffers, swirlers, sippers and yes, even gulpers. As if a 250+ wine selection wasn’t enough, attendees can sit in on crash course wine seminars, ask “stupid” questions to wine intelligence units, take pictures in outlandish costumes and break out their dance moves to the musical stylings of a live DJ. A fitting place for “wine types of all ages”.

We attended the Boston riot last October and most recently LA’s riot this past March. So far, they’re 2 for 2.

Boston introduced us to Giorgio & Gianni’s Lambrusco, Red Bubbles – a frizzante (Italian term for slightly sparkling. Impressed we knew that?), sweet red served cold. We haven’t put it down since.

Here are the remaining Wine Riot dates:

Boston – April 22-23

Chicago – May 20-21

NY – September 23-24

DC – October 21-22

Wish there were a riot closer to you? Contact the powers at be.

Cheers.
