We’re a week into February, so by now you’ve probably seen random celebrities wearing red to show their support for American Heart Month. For those of you who thought it was for Valentine’s Day, it’s actually meant to bring awareness to the leading cause of death for both men and women: heart disease.

We decided to do our part by sharing a few awesome heart healthy drink recipes. All of these drinks have ingredients that are known to keep our tickers in working order, and they taste pretty darn good too.

Blueberry Pomegranate Margarita

Blueberries and pomegranates are like the power fruits of heart health – that’s why this Blueberry Pomegranate Margarita is just what the doctor ordered. Just toss all of these ingredients in a blender and garnish with lime wedges:

• 3 cups crushed ice

• 1/3 cup tequila

• 1/4 cup orange liqueur

• A 12 oz. can limeade concentrate, frozen

• 1 cup Ocean Spray Blueberry Pomegranate juice

• 1/4 cup powdered sugar

Raspberry Acai Martini

This drink packs a triple punch in combatting heart disease: Acai berries, raspberries and cranberries. Shake up all these goodies in a cocktail shaker and enjoy.

• 1 1/2 oz. VeeV Acai Spirit

• 1/2 oz. Raspberry Liqueur

• 2 oz. Cranberry Juice

• Squeeze of lemon juice

• Garnish of a lemon twist

You can also combat heart disease every day with a classic favorite that requires no effort to make (aside from pouring it into a glass) – red wine. Consumed in moderation, red wine has long been touted for its heart healthy benefits.
