When spring hits, everyone wants crisp refreshing flavors, like citrus. Of course we love your typical lemon, lime or orange flavor but this season we’re most excited about the easily forgotten grapefruit.
A good drink starts with a solid base spirit and plenty of the big names have grapefruit offerings. Absolut Ruby Red is our go-to grapefruit vodka along with Finlandia Grapefruit Fusion. If we’re feeling classy, we’ll splurge for Belvedere Pink Grapefruit.
We get that you may want to give grapefruit a trial run before you commit to buying a whole bottle, so we recommend a Greyhound or Salty Dog to test the waters. A Greyhound is just regular vodka mixed with grapefruit juice, a great way to see if you like the flavor in cocktail form. A Salty Dog is gin mixed with grapefruit juice and a salted rim.
