It is National Ice Cream Month, in case you hadn’t heard.

Ronald Reagan designated the tradition in 1984. He also named the third Sunday in July as National Ice Cream Day. (If you missed it, you can have a make-up day this Sunday.)

Reagan recognized the popularity of ice cream in the United States because 90% of the nation’s population consumes ice cream, and stated that ice cream should be observed with “appropriate ceremonies and activities.”
