Winter does a number on your hair. It gets dry, dull, and unmanageable. Luckily for us there’s a remedy that’s as easy as cracking open a beer.

It’s called the Beer Rinse, and it’s super easy to do. Once you’ve shampooed your hair, rinse it out and pat it dry until there is no excess water. Then take a spray bottle of your hoppiest beer and cover your hair with the drink beginning at the roots and working down. Wait for two minutes then rinse it out with cold water. You can also use it as a leave-in treatment and sleep with it in your hair for even better results. The spray bottle isn’t a necessity, but it allows you to be more precise when applying the beer to your locks.

Wondering why this works? The hops in beer contain silica, which makes your hair stronger and fuller. Beer also has essential oils and vitamins that add shine and make for a healthier head of hair. Did we mention that Catherine Zeta-Jones is a fan of this treatment? There’s a good chance you already have what you need in your fridge, so what are you waiting for?
