Travel Trip JFK 50th_Cala

Today, May 29th, we celebrate the birth of John F. Kennedy in 1917. This past president is commonly recognized for his accomplishments in office,  charming face and swagger, and unfortunately his earth-shattering assassination. However, if you thought you knew all there was to know about Kennedy, you thought wrong.

Kennedy’s cocktail of choice? Daiquiri.

Despite popular belief, presidents somehow do find time to drink. This was especially true for Kennedy, who developed a name for his sexual escapades and drinking habits. Kennedy was often seen, whether enjoying happy hour at the White House or visiting the Arm Navy Club in DC,  sipping on a daiquiri– frozen or on ice. In fact, The Army Navy Club introduced the daiquiri in 1909 after word spread from Cuba about the refined recipe. It soon became one of the United States most popular drinks. So in case you are looking for an excuse to make or buy a fun frozen cocktail on a Thursday, heres a toast to John F. Kennedy with full daiquiris in hand. Happy Birthday JFK.
