On Valentine’s Day we’re looking to impress with our cocktail style and knowledge. We want something with class that shows your date (if you have one) that they’re lucky to have you.

Enter the Jack Rose. It’s an Applejack cocktail from the 1920’s that’s flavorful, sweet and red (cheesy and appropriate for today).. To make a Jack Rose, you’ll need:

• 2.5 oz Applejack
• ¾ oz Fresh lemon juice
• Grenadine to taste
• Garnish with a lime twist

Bonus tip: To really look like a genius, let your date know the drink was featured in Ernest Hemingway’s novel, The Sun Also Rises. If literature isn’t their thing, lie and say it’s what Jack and Rose drank on the Titanic.
