As November prepares to make its exit stage left, December gets ready to take the spotlight. And so do even lower temperatures (let us recall last winter). Before we know it, we’ll be warming our cars up every morning and wearing long underwear. Eventually, we’re going to need all the extra warmth we can get. So go ahead and cozy on up by your fireplace, put on your most fuzzy socks, and whip up this heartwarming cocktail.

Hot Spiced Buttered Rum

  • 1 teaspoon light brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon finely minced lemon rind
  • 3 pinches of cinnamon
  • Pinch of ground cloves
  • Pinch of nutmeg
  • 1 jigger golden rum
  • Boiling water
  • 1 generous teaspoon unsalted butter

Add the light brown sugar, lemon rind, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg to glass mug rinsed with boiling water. Then, add the rum, and fill the rest of the glass up with boiling water before adding the butter. Snuggle and enjoy.
