Nothing says, “hello summer” like a classic daiquiri. Now, before we get carried away, we’re not talking about the frozen, slushy drinks you can buy in a pouch at the supermarket. We’re talking about the original, unadulterated daiquiri. While a frozen drink or two during these hot summer months never hurt anyone, going back to the original recipe every once in a while really helps us stay true to the art that is drinking.

So, our motto this week is to stay simple. This daiquiri just uses three ingredients and couldn’t be more delicious if it tried. As you kick your feet up on this summer evening, try sipping on this lovely libation. You’ll only need…

2 oz. white rum
1 oz. fresh lime juice
½ oz. simple syrup (1 part sugar, 1 part water)

Combine the ingredients with ice in a shaker, strain into a chilled cocktail glass, turn on your Netflix show of choice, and relax.
