Did you know that Mexico’s most beloved cocktail isn’t the Margarita? We were shocked too.

Down in Mexico, the Paloma is actually the more popular drink. Created in the town of Tequila (how fitting), this traditional Mexican cocktail has recently been making a splash in the American bar scene. Given it’s the summer of grapefruit cocktails, we’re not surprised:

  • 2 oz. tequila
  • 6 oz. grapefruit-flavored soda
  • ½ oz. lime juice
  • Ice
  • Salt for rim (optional)

The Paloma is a lighter, fruitier, bubblier alternative to the Margarita. For many, this drink is a breakfast favorite, but we’ll enjoy one at any time of day.
