Boring.

Your mom raised you to be more creative, so why are you still giving her crappy, boring presents? Everyone knows that moms need to drink more than the average person, so instead of giving her strawberry daiquiri-scented lotion this year, why don’t you give her a real strawberry daiquiri?  Try making mom one of these fantastic Pinterest cocktail recipes and we guarantee that you’ll knock your brother out of the #1 child slot (for this year, at least).

Pink Fizz

Mother's Day Cocktails

The Pink Fizz cocktail is great because a) you’ll look like you tried really hard b) you didn’t really have to try hard and c) it’s pink. The recipe makes four drinks, so you can share with mom… or just give her four drinks. She’ll like that, too.

Muddle 3 tsp. simple syrup, 12 fresh mint leaves and 3 oz. fresh lime juice together in a shaker.

After that, add 8 oz. vodka, 1/8 c. cranberry juice and crushed iced. Shake it up really well, pour into four champagne glasses, then evenly top them off with champagne and garnish with mint.

Lavender Bellini

LavenderBellini

The Lavender Bellini requires a little more patience and skill (you have to make lavender simple syrup), but it’s totally worth it in the end. To make the lavender simple syrup, bring 1 c. of water and 3 Tbsp. dried lavender to a boil. Once it starts boiling, whisk in 2 c. granulated sugar until it dissolves. Lower the heat and let it simmer for 5 minutes, then strain the lavender flowers out and let the mixture cool down.

Then, to make the actual Bellini, add 1 Tbsp. of the lavender simple syrup to a champagne flute. Pour in chilled champagne and top it with fresh peach juice. Garnish with lavender, if you’re feeling fancy.

Pomosa

PomosaMimosas are a Mother’s Day classic, but your mom deserves better than that – your mom deserves a Pomosa (the Mimosa’s pomegranate cousin). Just shake up the following ingredients in an ice-filled shaker:

  • 2 oz. PAMA liqueur
  • 1/4 oz. orange liqueur
  • 2 oz. fresh orange juice

Strain into a chilled champagne flute and top everything off with 2 oz. of Champagne. Add frozen pomegranate seeds to the drink as the final touch.
