A recent study (they looked at over 4 million guest checks from US restaurants, night clubs and bars) found that drinkers tip over twenty percent on average. After making that little discovery, they broke it down even more, by what people drink.
• Bourbon drinkers tip an average of 22.69%
• Blended whiskey drinkers tip an average of 22.67%
• Cider drinkers tip an average of 22.20%
• Gin drinkers tip an average of 21.67%
• Vodka drinkers tip an average of 21.27%
• Scotch drinkers tip an average of 20.12%
• Rum drinkers tip an average of 19.81%
• Cordial/Liqueur drinkers tip an average of 19.66%
Regardless of what you’re drinking, you’re still loved by your local wait staff. Remember to be generous and maybe next time, you’ll get some extra scotch in your glass.
