Buffalo Trace Distillery won’t settle when it comes to their whiskey. The brand has launched a new experimental collection that tests what happens to the taste when you alter the starting proof of the whiskey.
The collection is made up of 4 different whiskeys, each named for their starting proof: Wheat 125, Wheat 115, Wheat 105 and Wheat 90. All the whiskeys were aged for 11 years and bottled at 90 proof. By keeping all other variables the same, Buffalo Trace hopes to single out which starting proof has the best taste. Their favorite? Wheat 115.
The bottles are on sale for $46, so you can taste the difference for yourself. Will a higher starting proof really taste better? Or is it a hoax to get us to buy all four? Let us know your thoughts.
