RedWineShake

Red Robin is at it again, making milkshakes out of drinks that never asked to be milkshakes in the first place. This time they’re using Little Black Dress brand Divalicious Red Wine, which sounds like a pretty good time on its own. Add in some raspberry puree, whipped cream vodka, and vanilla soft serve and you’ve got yourself Red Robin’s newest creation.

We still aren’t sure if we’re willing to take the risk, but it certainly looks cute. They even put a little black dress wine charm on the side, so even if you don’t like the shake you won’t be walking away empty-handed.

With the moscato shake and the beer shake behind them, maybe Red Robin has finally figured it out?

This drink won’t be for everyone, but think of it this way: it’s the most efficient heart-break cure ever created.

Red Robin: Not Again

Last summer, we saw Red Robin tarnish their menu by adding their signature “Can-Crafted Cocktails.” We spent months of agony having to avert our eyes from the bottom of their drink menu. We asked ourselves over and over, “why did this lovely chain restaurant feel the need to reach beyond its calling?” A chain restaurant just isn’t the place for beer cocktails. And to make matters worse, they brought the phrase “reusable beer can” to existence. No, Red Robin, no.

And just when we thought the madness would cease, Red Robin hit us hard again. This summer, they will be releasing two more of these Can-Crafted monstrosities:

Wildbeer–y Can-Crafted Cocktail: Combines Redd’s Strawberry Ale with Tito’s Vodka, Red Robin’s strawberry-raspberry purée and Minute Maid Lemonade. And to top it off, it’s available in a collector’s edition baseball and American flag-themed can. Thank goodness for that.

Beer ‘Rita Can-Crafted™ Cocktail: Sauza Blue Silver Tequila, triple sec and Red Robin’s house-made sweet & sour mix topped with a Coronita. Cute.

So when we stop by Red Robin this summer, we’ll be ordering a soda. The decision is all yours folks; either choose to maintain your dignity, or succumb to the madness that is a “reusable beer can.”

Say it Isn’t So: Wine Milkshakes at Red Robin

Our Stories / March 18, 2014 / No Comments.

RRWineShake

We’re open-minded when it comes to our vino, so when we first heard about wine milkshakes a couple years ago we were optimistic that ice cream and wine could be a dynamic duo. Today however, that trend has taken a step in an interesting direction after Red Robin announced their plans to carry wine milkshakes at all of their U.S. locations.

Red Robin had already lost points with us for their beer cocktails and now they’re adding wine to the mix. Their first release, the Mango Moscato Wine Shake, is made with wine, vodka, mango puree and vanilla soft serve. This is only the first of a few recipes to come that will be available at Red Robins later this summer.

If we had to guess, we’re not going to say these wine milkshakes aren’t going to be on our drink order. Maybe it’s the combo of wine and ice cream that’s throwing us off? We’ll steer clear for now, but for those of you who do order a vino shake, fill us in.

This Milkshake Brings All the Boys to the Yard

Our Stories / September 17, 2012 / 1 Comment.

The Red Robin chain is known for having some serious burgers…or rather, “gourmet burgers” as their logo so proudly states. But everyone knows that an awesome burger requires the company of either an equally awesome shake or beer. Red Robin has always had a few different boozy milkshakes, but they’ve come out with a very special one for Oktoberfest that makes it so we don’t have to choose between having a shake or a beer (drum roll, please)….the Sam Adams Octoberfest Milkshake.

The ingredients are basic, but the taste is magical:
• Vanilla soft serve ice cream
• Caramel
• Vanilla Syrup
• Sam Adams Octoberfest Beer
The Sam Adams Octoberfest Milkshake will be on the Red Robin menu until November 11, so you should probably make some plans to get down there stat. If you are feeling super Oktoberfest-y, you could pair the shake with the Oktoberfest burger…this masterpiece is no joke and they make sure to throw more beer in there for good measure:
• Toasted Pretzel Bun
• Fire-Grilled Beef
• Beer Mustard
• Black Forest Ham
• Beer Mustard Sautéed Onions
• Melted Swiss Cheese
We always love spiked sweets, so Red Robin…we salute you.
