1) It’s Christmas! Most of you have a few days off. This means more time to drink. You’re holiday shopping is officially over. This weekend is a perfect time to relax and enjoy time with family and friends. But let’s get real- sometimes family and friends can stress you out. A stiff cocktail will fix that.

2) 2017 is basically here. New year, new you? Honestly, this saying is definitely over used but the meaning behind it still holds true. Try something new this year. And by something new, we mean a new cocktail.

3) Hanukkah begins at sundown on Saturday. Get your menorahs, bake up some latkes and start spinning your dreidels. And don’t forget to grab some Chinese food and head to the movie theaters on Christmas day. Oh and even more important, don’t forget the booze.

4) It’s officially winter. The first day of winter was on Wednesday. There’s no denying it now. Even with the up and down temperatures (especially in New England), we are coming to terms that fall is really gone. We plan on keeping warm until March with lots and lots of booze.

5) It’s the weekend. Do you need any more reason than that?!

1) Rogue One: A Star Wars Story comes out today. We will finally be able to solve the mystery that is “Where does this film fit in with the rest of the “Star Wars” cycle?” Make sure you go to a theatre that serves booze.

2) It’s the last weekend before Christmas which means you have to savor this free time. Before you know it, relatives are going to be pounding on your front door waiting to pinch your cheeks and ask you questions that make you question your entire life’s purpose. Kick back on the couch with a glass of wine or go rage at a night club. Whatever floats your boat. This is your “you-time.”

3) The Polar Vortex is not a weird video game or the title of sci-fi movie. For much of the central and eastern parts of the US, the polar vortex is very real and it’s coming. Along with it are “dangerously” cold temperatures and howling winds. If this isn’t a perfect excuse to stay inside all weekend and drink spiked hot cocoa we don’t know what is.

4) Finals week is over for most of our readers who are in college. You’ve spent hours slowing losing your mind in the library, memorizing things you will most likely forget in 24 hours. You deserve to let loose this weekend. Throw a few back for wrapping up fall semester!

5) Alan Thicke passed away this week. Known for his role in “Growing Pains,” where he received the nickname “America’s dad.” He died at the age of 69. We can all agree that he will be greatly missed. Raise a glass for Dr. Jason Seaver.

1) The Army-Navy Game: Once a year, the United States Military Academy and the United States Naval Academy square up in what is one of the oldest rivalries in all of sports. Currently, Navy leads the series at 60-49-7 and has won the matchup for the last 14 years.

2) Westworld season finale: For those of you who follow the show, we know you’re devastated (and probably feeling a little mindf*cked) after watching the season finale last week. And so are we. We won’t be looking forward to Sunday nights anymore (that is until Game of Thrones returns for it’s final season- ever). We plan on drowning our sorrows in booze this Sunday instead. We recommend you join us.

3) Teddy Roosevelt: This Saturday marks the 110th anniversary of Teddy Roosevelt becoming the first US President to win the Nobel Peace Prize. FYI, his favorite drink was the mint julep.

4) Spider Man: So the first trailer for the new Spider man movie just dropped. It’s got a whole new story and new actor. We don’t hate it, but it just feels like they’re throwing these movies out there faster than we can keep up. How can you even keep track of all the new superhero movies that have come out recently? Either way, seeing the trailer made us realized that the original Spiderman with Tobey Maquire came out 14 years ago, and we’ll raise a glass to that.

5) The holiday season: We are three weeks into the holiday season (we all know it starts the day after Thanksgiving). Now it’s okay to put the decorations, wear goofy sweaters and break out the eggnog (we recommend adding a shot of a liquor). Happy holidays!

It’s a long weekend, let’s drink.

1) It’s Thanksgiving weekend. For most of us, that means dealing with family and all their pressing questions. No, Uncle Stephen, I did not get that promotion at work. And no, grandma, I do not have a significant other and no, please do not set me up with your friend’s creepy single son/daughter. Yeah, you’re going need another glass of wine to get through this day.

2) The holiday season is upon us. Whether you’re super into Christmas or can’t stand the holidays, it’s the season of drinking. It’s a time where the world seems a little nicer, and we could all use that.

3) It’s Black Friday. People go wild to get the best deals. If your family wakes up at 4 AM and drags your a$$ to the mall, throw some Bailey’s in that coffee. Or if your family doesn’t partake in the insane shopping spree, spike your coffee with some Bailey’s anyways- you deserve it.

4) Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life is coming out on Netflix. The population is divided when it comes to Gilmore Girls. Either you’ve been counting down the days and are planning on binging the 4-episode series or you despise the show and can’t wait for the hype to die down. Regardless of your GG stance, it’s time to pour a fat glass of wine and chill.

5) This year was weird and interesting- good news there’s only 37 days left. Hallelujah, 2016 is almost over. On a global scale, a lot of negative things have happened this year. So most of us will definitely be throwing (multiple) drinks back to celebrate the end of these past 365 days.

If you’re anything like us, you’ve been counting down the days until the weekend since Monday morning. And alas- it’s finally here. Let’s starting pouring some drinks.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. About time, am I right? For those Harry Potter fanatics out there, the first installment of the much anticipated prequel series hit theaters today. We’re thinking popcorn and butterbeer would pair lovely together.
Thanksgiving Political Conversations. Following one of the most contentious and divisive presidential elections in history, most of us would love to just take a break from politics to eat, drink, watch football and spend some quality time with loved ones. Too bad crazy aunts and uncles across the country are getting ready for their big day. They’ve found the facts, figures, and polls they need, and their coming to ruin your dinner. This election might never end. Drink up.
Colonel Sanders. Wait, he’s real? Yup, Colonel Harland David Sanders was a real man and on this day in 1948, he wed his sweetheart Claudia Price. For this we deem it appropriate to raise a glass of Kentucky Bourbon to an American hero.
Fake Facebook news. You’re lying if you say you’ve never seen a fake news story shared on your Facebook newsfeed. It’s usually that know-it-all-but-doesn’t-know-anything person from your high school who trolls the Internet. Most of us have to come realize which sources are reliable or not, but it’s getting harder and harder to tell. With all the crazy things going on in the world- some true stories actually sound fake (or at least we wish they were). Facebook employees have reportedly set up an unofficial task force to combat fake news on the social media site. We’re just going to sit here, sipping our drinks, and see how this one works out…

This week was a special one given the election, whether you’re happy about the results or have already booked your plane ticket to Canada. But for now, we can can focus on the fact that it’s Friday. In case you need more excuses to get your booze groove on, don’t worry, we’ve got your back.

Donald Trump was elected the United States 45th President. Drinking is what’s recommended for both those celebrating the Republican victory and those drowning their Democratic fears and sorrows. For the next 47 days, we still have Obama and we’ll drink to that!
It’s Veterans Day. No matter what your political affiliation is, those who go out and fight for our country deserve not only our respect and admiration but also a toast to their lives and success.
Weed was legalized in Massachusetts, California and Nevada. We know this can be a sensitive issue to some but Vegas is already crazy, marijuana was already a currency on the West coast and Mass is going to make a cash load on tax. So drink up and celebrate that if nothing else!
One year ago, the Paris attacks happened and changed the world. It’s a nice gesture to celebrate the lives of those who survived and remember those who didn’t. France has since become stronger than ever. Cheers to keeping the peace!
Leonard Cohen died at the age of 82. The Canadian singer-songwriter of “Hallelujah” and “Suzanne” passed away this morning. His songs impacts the lives of multiple generations and his words will live on forever. #RIP

We’re not the type of people who need a reason to drink. If we’re breathing that’s reason enough. But for those who need more, here you go:

1. No Shave November: You know what would be interesting? To collect survey results on women’s libido averages across from October to December. We’re thinking there is a pretty big drop somewhere in middle. There is something about a mustache that is just so #notathing anymore. But, of course, we’re all for the cause!

2. Uber Update: Leader of the ride-hailing category, Uber now wants to “know what you want before you want it.” All we have to say is we’re not even sure what we want for dinner tonight so this might be a stretch, Uber. “But Uber, I just don’t know what I want!” (sighs and thinks pensively about the good times… and the bad).

3. Election Day: We know, we know. We’ve said it before – maybe even twice. So we’ll make this quick. We are only certain about one thing about this election: It’s. A. Reason. To. Drink.

4. Green Starbucks Cups: You know what, Starbucks? It’s just so inconsiderate of you to go changing on us like that. The annual red holiday cup is nowhere to be seen this year. Will the snow fall? Will bells even ring? Is it possible that Santa won’t even bother? Here’s hoping Starbucks hears us out.

5. Patient Zero: A study published on Wednesday in Nature cleared the name of “Patient Zero,” a gay French-Canadian flight attendant named Gaeton Dugas who had been accused of bring to North America. After having to live with this stigma for the rest of his life and in memory, turns out HIV had already made its way to New York City around 1971.

1. The NBA is back. And while it’s more than likely that we’re headed towards another Warriors, Cavs championship, we can still sit back with a cold one and watch or teams try.

2. The Election. Early voting has begun and we’re finally in the home stretch of what feels like the longest election season ever. Whether your candidate wins or loses, raise a glass to the fact that this election has almost come to an end.

3. Halloween. Yeah we know October 31st lands on a Monday this year but many of us will be celebrating this weekend instead. So get your costumes ready and celebrate your last weekend to enjoy pumpkin beer.

4. The World Series. With the Cubs and the Indians tied at a game a piece, you can’t miss Friday’s game. It’ll be a nail biter, so make sure to have plenty of beers around to help calm your nerves.

5. Goodbye Vine. #RIPVine Twitter recently announced it was retiring Vine, the looping video app. Please pour one out to the Vine celebrities that will no longer have jobs.

1. Two weeks until the 2016 Summer Olympics Games: Are you ready to see Aly Raisman lead the new Fierce Five? See Michael Phelps win a possible 19^th Gold medal? Or even Usain Bolt compete in his 4^th Olympic games? Celebrate the success and hard work of all of your favorite athletes with a brew in hand. Let the countdown begin…

2. In Honor of the continued Kimye v. T. Swift Chaos: We just can’t look away, and we’re sure you can’t either. The ongoing saga of Kanye’s lyrics about T. Swift in his new song “Famous” has gotten everyone in a tizzy. In honor of Kanye being his controversial, rapping self – drink up.

3. Happy Birthday David Spade: Tip your glass for the ever so funny David Spade turning 52 today. For all of his performances from Saturday Night Live to Curb Your Enthusiasm, his birthday is definitely a reason to drink and have a fun evening this Friday.

4. Netflix is making another segment of “Making a Murderer”: The documentary that no one could stop watching is returning, complete with more of the twists and turns of Stephen Avery’s mysterious situation. Get ready to be mind blown. Sip on something tonight so you can spend the upcoming Friday nights on the couch watching this addicting documentary.

5. Cope with the 1-year count down until Game of Thrones: For all of you GOT lovers, we are sorry for your loss. Having to wait a whole year before seeing the next chapter of the GOT story must be pretty tough. It will be a long year, but one way of getting your mind off of it is pouring it up tonight.

1. Emmy nominations announced July 14th: Just like we don’t need an excuse to drink, we definitely don’t need an excuse to watch more TV. But if you’re really feeling guilty, just remind yourself that you should be an informed audience member of the upcoming 2016 Emmy’s. Pop open a beer and catch up on all the nominated shows.

2. Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates release: Let’s face it, any movie with Zac Efron is a movie worth seeing. But this one in particular- with its all-star cast including Adam Devine and Anna Kendrick- is sure to be a hilarious, mindless summer flick. Get some friends together for brews, then head out to enjoy cooling off in an air-conditioned movie theater to escape the summer heat.

3. Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris: We smell another platinum selling album in the works from Taylor Swift. The T-Swift/Calvin Harris break-up drama is not only major inspiration for some hit songs, but it would definitely also make a fantastic drinking game. Drink every time Taylor or Calvin tweet something nasty or passive aggressive at each other; do a double shot every time Katy Perry gets involved!

4. The Walking Dead: AMCs cult TV show ended its 6th and most stressful season a few months ago, but today they released a new teaser photo for season 7. For those of you who are fans, you’ll recognize the visual as Negan holding his bat, standing in front of his 11 potential victims. Which one will it be? Drink to pass the time because you won’t find out until October.

5. Pokemon Go: If you don’t already know about the earth-shattering phenomenon that is Pokemon Go, you’re definitely living under a rock. The game is already more popular than Instagram in the App Store. What better way to enjoy a summer weekend than to get together with friends, enjoy some drinks and play some Pokemon Go? Just don’t wander into the middle of a road.
