Well the time for tricks and tomfoolery has arrived and it falls on the most appropriate day around – April Fools’ Day. If you’re struggling to come up with some creative shenanigans, that’s just fine; instead set a friend up with a cocktail that isn’t truly what it seems…
April Fools Appletini: (serves 1)
- 1 ½ oz. Silver Tequila
- ½ oz. Green Chartreuse
- 5 Basil leaves
- 1 oz. Ruby red grapefruit juice
- ¾ oz. Lime juice
- ¾ oz. Simple syrup (one part sugar, one part water)
- Thin apple slice or maraschino cherry for garnish
In a cocktail shaker muddle the simple syrup and basil leaves. Add the remaining ingredients and ice. Shake and strain into a chilled Martini glass. Garnish with a thin apple slice or a maraschino cherry.

Not Manhattan: (serves 1)
- 1 ½ oz. rum
- 2 oz. apple juice
- 3 dahses Peychaud’s Bitters
- 4 dashes Angostura bitters
Add all ingredients to a mixing glass filled with ice. Stir and strain into a chilled Martini glass. Garnish with a cherry.

“Fruity Martini”: (serves 1)
- 1 ½ oz. Scotch Whiskey
- ¾ oz. Açai Liqueur
- ½ oz. Aperol
- ¼ oz. Lemon juice
- Cherry for garnish
