BARS & RESTAURANTS:

The Lodge at Gallow Green

This lush garden hideaway bar and restaurant is located on the rooftop of The McKittrick. The minute you walk in, you’ll be transported to a mountainside ski cabin in the Alps. They offer a selection of craft cocktails including their signature “Sleep No More” (made with cacao infused Banhez Mezcal, pineapple bitters, La Croix coconut soda and lime).

Miracle at Mace

This seasonal pop-up is a holiday wonderland, complete with hanging presents, stockings, garland and Christmas lights galore. Listen to yuletide songs while sipping on their signature “Christmapolitan” (a twist on the Cosmopolitan made with fig leaf infused vodka, spiced cranberry sauce and lime). We also recommend trying “Bad Santa,” made with Jamaican rum, Trinidad Overproof rum, arrack, pineapple juice, milk, lemon juice, coconut water and coconut butter.

Haven Rooftop

This seasonal glassed in rooftop is located in the Sanctuary Hotel New York. It’s known for hot drinks, creative cocktails and a delicious menu that perfectly fits the cozy atmosphere. Enjoy your drinks in lounge chairs by the personal fireplaces underneath hanging snowflakes and other snowy decorations.

Sippin’ Santa’s Surf Shack

Turn your New York Christmas vacation into something tropical at the Sippin’ Santa’s Surf Shack pop-up at The Boilermaker. This tiki-themed bar is full of wrapped presents and plastic flamingos with plenty of ‘60s beach movies playing in the background. They’re known for their “Holiday Lei” cocktail, which is a delicious combination of sparkling wine and cranberry. Also, be sure to try “The Chinatown Christmas,” made with five-spice infused Scotch, plum wine, and Angostura bitters poured over a snowball ice cube.

Baita at Eataly

This enclosed heated rooftop offers stunning views of the Flatiron District. Named after a small ski lodge in the Italian Alps, this festive bar is filled with pine trees and garland. Come and indulge in New York’s first polenta bar and escape the cold with a cup of “Smokey S’more,” hot chocolate mixed with tequila cream, mezcal and topped with cookie crumbles.

Silver Belles Shoals

Enjoy live music, twinkling lights, snow covered trees and fire pits at the Silver Belles Shoals at In Good Co. (even snap a picture with Drunk Santa on December 3rd). This heated magical garden is complete with corn hole too. Their most popular cocktails include the “Choco…Choco…Oaxaca (house-made hot cocoa with a jolt of cinnamon, cayenne and smoky mescal) and the “Baby It’s Cold Out Cider,” spiked with apple brandy and whiskey.

The Holiday Hideaway

This pop-up is tucked beneath the main floor of The VNYL, and is quite literally a holiday hideaway. They offer specialty cocktails by Gareth Howells, like Santa’s Milk Punch and Cookies. They also have Monday night holiday movie series curated by Adrian Grenier and elves handing out complimentary boozy gifts. This is a holiday win-win.

A Midwinter Night’s Dream

The LOCL Bar at the NYLO Hotel is transformed into Shakespeare-inspired dreamscape through January 1st. Complete with tulle canopies, floral garland and a red baby grand piano. Order a “Shakespeare’s Globe and it will be served to you in a snow globe. They also offer a cocktail, “Love in Idleness,” that transforms from white to purple. Bonus: 2$ from each “Love in Idleness” cocktail will be donated to their charity partner, Save the Children.

Rolf’s

If you want an overload of Christmas, Rolf’s is the place to go. It’s decked from head to toe with everything Christmas. They’re also known for having the best schnapps menu. But if schnapps isn’t for you, don’t worry. They also offer giant mugs of beer, eggnog and mulled wine.

The Peak at PHD Terrace

The 16th floor at Dream Midtown turns into a festive mountainside cabin during the holidays. Filled with frosted trees, furry blankets and candles, it’s the perfect place to enjoy peppermint martinis and delicious apps.

Winter Holiday Garden at Midnights

Enjoy seasonal holiday beers and themed cocktails while taking in the festive holiday decorations in this winter wonderland garden.

Winter Wonderland at Good Story

This is the seasonal revamp of Good Story, the rooftop bar at the Arlo Hudson Square Hotel. Enjoy a hot chocolate martini or a fruitcake old-fashioned under the color lights and holiday ornaments. They also countdown the 25 days to Christmas with a boozy Advent calendar. They select a specific bottle to showcase every day until December 25 and pour it free for guests until it runs out.

Holiday Village at La Sirena

Open only on Saturdays and Sundays through December 18th, this outdoor patio of the Batali-Bastianich restaurant is decked out with 35 real trees and festive lives by floral designed Carols Rivas. Take some pictures with Santa and sip some warm cocktails!

Pete’s Tavern

This is where the New York locals come to relax and feel festive. And they’re open Christmas Day!

In each “room” of the pop up bar, you can experience a different part of the show’s world, including Dany’s dragons and the Hall of Faces (uh maybe don’t have a drink in there?). And of course, the show’s theme song will be playing the entire time to get you in a Thrones kinda mood.

If that weren’t enough, the bar will allow you to imbibe on signature cocktails like, “What is Dead May Never Die” and “The Lannisters Send Their Regards,” as well as some of Ommegang’s famous GoT brews like “Bend the Knee” and “Three-Eyed Raven.”

The bar opens on June 20th through August 27th and will be open every day, except Sunday because everyone will be home glued to the TV anyway.

Awesome Pop Up Bar Alert: The Breaking Bad RV Bar

Featured Story / June 6, 2017 / No Comments.

So. It’s been a minute since Breaking Bad’s series finale, but according to NBC, fans in NYC are still down to get into an RV and pour one out for Walt.

The Breaking Bad Bar will be called ABQ and will be rolling into NYC this July after hanging out in the UK for the past 2 years. Apparently, the RV looks just like Walter White’s meth lab, but rather than cooking up illicit drugs, you can cook up your own cocktail using molecular techniques.

The ABQ creators didn’t stop there. Bartenders are dressed in trademark yellow jumpsuits and in case you still don’t get the theme, “HEISENBERG” is written across the wall of the bar.

Tickets start at $45, which gets you a 2-hour visit and three cocktails.
