What could possibly be better than beer? Of course, the answer is simple: nothing. But hear me out – alcoholic root beer is delicious, and it’s coming soon to a party near you. In the past few years there has been an onslaught of alcoholic root beers to hit the market, combining low alcohol content with a sweet taste comparable to soda or a sweet cocktail. Alcoholic root beer is perfect for those who are not looking for a heavy lager but still want to enjoy a refreshing beer(ish) taste on a warm summer day.
Sound good? Let’s take a look at some of this year’s best contenders.

1) Best Damn Rootbeer

At the end of a long hard day, chances are that you’ll be craving a stiff one, a beer, or a glass of wine. But, what if you’re not? What if you want to relax, but none of those options sound appealing at the moment? That’s when you know it’s time to go back to basics. Kick it “underage”-school and have a wholesome soda. We’re sure that it’ll be just as satisfying.

JUST KIDDING.

We’re still talking soda, but per DIA habits, we prefer soda that comes with a kick. A bit of booze will elevate any drinking experience, so check out our 5 favorite alcoholic sodas.

Henry’s Hard Soda
We have high hopes for this one! Hot off the press, Henry’s Hard Soda was JUST released nationwide on January 4th. MillerCoors is claiming the fame for this alcoholic ginger ale and orange soda.

Not Your Father’s Root Beer
Okay, so maybe it’s closer to a beer than to a soda, but we’ll include it anyway because it’s just that good.

Naughty Soda
Available in four interesting flavors, this one claims the title, “a soda with a touch of ABV.” Is it silly? Maybe. Is it accurate? We guess so.

Wild Ginger
Also not yet on shelves, we haven’t heard much hype about this one. But it looks believable enough that we’ll keep on paying attention.

Spiked Seltzer
You’ve heard us talk about this one before, but we’ll say it again; Spiked Seltzer was a gift to mankind.
