BlackFridayCocktai;

Waking up at 3am to go to Best Buy and elbow other crazy deal-seekers seems like something you’d probably need a few drinks to handle. We do agree it could calm you down a bit, but when you’re battling armies of tired psychos, you probably don’t want to be a little tipsy. You need to be in tip-top shape to get your Black Friday shopping done, but when you get back home? All bets are off and it’s time to celebrate your amazing finds.

Throw your very own Black Friday cocktail party and it will give you even more incentive to get in and out of those stores quickly and efficiently. Invite your other pals who love a good bargain and relax for the rest of the day in style.

We don’t think a Black Friday cocktail party should be anything outrageous. It’s the day after Thanksgiving, you’re probably still wearing your stretchy pants, and you may or may not have been awake for more than 24 hours. Who has time to be a perfect host or hostess under those conditions?

Here are a few ways you can have some fun on Black Friday without too much effort:

  • Invite over any friends or acquaintances that you know went shopping on Black Friday. Misery loves company and you don’t want to hang out with pals who are well-rested and didn’t go out to battle the crowds. Those people are boring anyway.

  • Encourage guests to bring their receipts from that day’s shopping excursion. Give out good bottles of wine, liquor or beer to the people who got the best deals.

  • Everybody has to wear black. Duh.

  • You should have all the basics to make some solid cocktails, but serve The Black Friday as your signature cocktail:

Fill a tall glass with ice and add 1.5 oz. Old Forester Signature Bourbon, 1 oz. ginger ale, 2 oz. cola and a squeeze of lime. Garnish with the crushed lime; the lime represents your money that has been crushed from shopping.

Happy shopping to all of you who are braving the lines and crazies. We’ll be waiting for you, bottle of wine in hand.
