Let us introduce to our new hero, James Nielsen. Typically we wouldn’t idolize someone who works out on the regular, mostly because it makes us look bad when we’re sitting around drinking beer instead. However, Nielsen has achieved a fete we can appreciate: chugging beer and running.

On April 27, the 34-year-old runner tracked the shortest time ever on the Beer Mile. The event requires contestants to finish a 12 oz. beer before each of the four laps on a 400-meter track. Aka four beers, one mile. We’d be looking at finish time of about twenty minutes but Nielsen crushed it with a 4:57:1 finish. That’s one for the record books.

Seriously dude, we could never chug and sprint. Cheers to Nielsen and his new Beer Mile world record.
