Kevin Plank is the CEO of Under Armour, an investor in Towson Watch Co. and Tessemae’s Dressing, a farmer and now a rye whiskey distiller. He has a hand in everything we care about and we couldn’t be more jealous. Thanks to his most recent endeavor, we can finally get a little taste of what all that success is like.
Sagamore Spirit is an 83 proof rye whiskey made with the water from Plank’s farm. It doesn’t get more homegrown than that. Described as a smooth and spicy sipping whiskey, this is right up our alley. It all started when the spirit’s co-founder, Bill McDermond, discovered that the limestone under the farm was perfect for making whiskey. The rest is history.
Sagamore Spirit will be on sale in Maryland and DC starting May 13th. Ringing in at $40 for a 750ml bottle it’s a respectable gift for your whiskey-loving friend. And who knows, maybe some of Plank’s success will rub off on you.
