The new line is named for former Penn State football coach, Joe Paterno, who passed away in 2012 and will hit the market later this summer. The Paterno Legacy Series created by the Duquesne Brewing Co has been approved by Sue, Paterno’s widow, and will be brewed in Latrobe, PA—where the two were married. The first run, created in collaboration with the brewery and the Paterno family, will feature 12 oz cans bearing Paterno’s image and accomplishments.

Joe Paterno, the winningest Division I football coach will be inducted into the Pennsylvania Football Hall of fame this fall. A portion of the proceeds from the Paterno Legacy series will go to a charity chosen by Sue. Fans of Penn State and Paterno can toast to his memory with the Vienna-style lager that will be available in mid-August. Here’s to you, Coach Paterno!
