giphy-1Another winter, another disastrous snowstorm. We’ve all experienced those brutal winters that leave us begging for Vitamin D, hibernating for four months, and wishing that there was a type of delivery service for every possible item you needed. Hopefully Jonas will be a bit nicer than Juno, but you can never be too careful. So, before you lock yourself inside until summer, don’t forget to take a trip to the liquor store to stock up on some stormy cocktails to get you through this year’s tempest.

Warm Minted Red Wine

Red wine is the ultimate snowstorm libation. Why bother acknowledging the storm if you’re not going to stock up on about 5 bottles of vino? This cozy cocktail will keep you on the couch for at least three episodes of Game of Thrones. So, take your goblet and muddle these ingredients into a steaming cup of goodness.

  • 3 ounces Pinot Noir
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • ½ ounce cherry juice
  • 3 ounces boiling water
  • 3 mint sprigs
  • 1 lemon twist
  • cinnamon stick

The Melted Snowman

Unfortunately, there won’t be any melted snowmen around anytime soon. However, this recipe has flavors and aromas that will bring you back to the holidays. After all, it should only be this cold when there are still carolers and Christmas bells to distract you from your frozen fingers and Rudolph nose.

  • 1 oz vodka
  • ¼ oz peppermint schnapps
  • 3 coffee beans
  • 1 carrot slice

Hot Toddy

We just had to include this classic steaming concoction. Nothing warms your body and soul like sipping on a sizzling hot toddy. It’s so cozy and warms you from the inside out; you can just consider it a substitute for medicine during the winter.

  • 1.7 ounces whisky
  • 3 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoon honey
  • 3 tablespoon hot water
  • 3 cloves
  • 1 cinnamon stick

Damn-The-Weather Cocktail

Why not try a cocktail that has our same thoughts on this weekend’s forecast. There may be no more appropriate time to whip up one of these drinks. This cocktail will be sure to melt away your winter blues.

  • 1 tablespoon sweet vermouth
  • 1 ounce gin
  • 1 tablespoon orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon Triple Sec
