gingerbread-flip_1384-681x1024It’s that time of the year again when building Gingerbread houses are seasonally appropriate, and we couldn’t be more excited. What else says “happy holidays” more than a few cookie-shaped men and white icing covered gumdrops? Pretty much nothing.

Regardless if your creation is an elaborately decorated mansion or a run down shack-like establishment, you’re already a step ahead of anyone who isn’t currently celebrating via cookie architecture. With it being national Gingerbread House Day, we’re here to help you rejoice and reign in the holiday with a few gingerbread inspired cocktails:

  • 1 ½ oz. rum
  • 1 oz. ginger liqueur
  • ½ oz. allspice dram
  • 1 egg white
  • few dashes of chocolate bitters
  • fresh cinnamon and nutmeg
  • lemon peel for garnish

Pour beer into a chilled glass with ice. In a cocktail shaker, combine rum, ginger liqueur, allspice dram, egg white and bitters. Shake for at least 30 seconds. Strain into your glass and top with cinnamon and nutmeg. Garnish with the lemon peel.

  • 2 oz. Kahlua or Baileys
  • 1 ½ tsp. molasses
  • 1/16 tsp. ginger
  • sugar and cinnamon for rimming your glass

Combine sugar and cinnamon and rim glass with the mixture. In an ice filled cocktail shaker, add milk, vodka, Kahlua/Baileys and shake. Add the molasses and ginger and shake until chilled, then strain mixture into your ice-filled glass. Top with molasses drizzle if desired.

Spicy Gingerman (1 serving)

  • ½ oz. Kahlua
  • ½ oz. gingerbread syrup
  • ½ scoop vanilla ice cream (very soft, about half melted)
  • whipped cream
