I recently took a trip to the Virgin Islands. It was ridiculous.  Ridiculously beachy, sunny and drunky.

I have a homeboy that lives in St. Thomas and from there we took a boat and island-hopped from the U.S. Virgin Islands (USVI) to the British Virgin Islands (BVI).

Two must sees beach-booze destinations:

1)    Willy T’s

2)    The Soggy Dollar.

Willy T’s is a bar on a boat. You can only get there by boat. You tie up next to it and board. The atmosphere is like Bourbon St. on the water. Bikini’s and board shorts, shot-ski’s and skinny dipping, it is amazing. A-ma-zing.

The Soggy Dollar is on a beach. It is appropriately named because one must anchor their boat yards off shore and swim to get there. Upon arrival, you pay for your drink with your soggy, seawater drenched dollars. While slightly more tame than Willy T’s (only slightly), it has it’s own claim to fame, The Painkiller. The Soggy Dollar claims to have invented and perfected The Painkiller. I don’t know if that’s true or not, I just know it’s delicious.

If you’ve not been to the VI but plan to some day, put these spots on your itinerary. Do it now. No joke, island location or not, two of the most awesome bars I have ever been to. But I’m pretty sure the island location had most everything to do with their awesomeness. Actually yes, it had everything to do with it. Get there. Thank me later.
