4_edited-1Normally, boozy beverages equate to a great time, but they also have the tendency to make you feel more than ready to hit the sheets. With today being International Coffee Day, we want to add a twist to all things alcohol and provide a list of our favorite caffeinated cocktails. You probably already know about Irish coffee and other spiked chai concoctions, but we’re sure you’ve never heard of these other ways to take joy in your java.

Espresso Martini (1 serving)

  • 1 oz. cold espresso
  • 1 ½ oz. vodka
  • 1 ½ oz. Kahlua or another coffee liqueur
  • 1 oz. white crème de cocoa

Pour all the ingredients into a cocktail shaker that is filled with ice. Shake for at least 30 seconds, and then strain into a chilled martini glass.

  • 8 oz. coffee
  • 2 tbsp. agave nectar
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • nutmeg for garnish (optional)

Mix together the agave nectar, cream and vanilla extract. Stir in a bowl until firm. Combine the tequila, coffee liqueur, and coffee in a cup. Top with cream and then garnish with nutmeg.

Bronx Bomber (1 serving)

  • Double shot espresso
  • 1/8 oz. absinthe
  • 1 ½ oz. gin

Pour all ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously then strain into a glass.

Pumpkin Spice Margarita (2 servings)
