Have you noticed everyone in the bars has been rocking the white sweater look lately? Because we have. In fact, the fashion magazines at every checkout counter tell us that it is the new upcoming look for Winter 2014. If this fashionable truth stands strong throughout the holiday season, then you better match your cocktails accordingly or else you are more than likely to lose your fashion statement sweater to a spill or two. So take some tips from us, and choose your drink wisely with your outfit in mind.

Here are some cocktails that will leave you in the clear in case a nudge of an elbow or a strong breeze gets in your way:

The Sparkling Charleston Cosmopolitan

1 cup crushed ice
3 tablespoons vodka
1 1/2 tablespoons peach nectar
1 tablespoon orange liqueur
1 tablespoon white cranberry juice
2 lemon wedges
2 tablespoons sparkling white wine
Garnish: orange slice (optional)

Combine crushed ice, vodka, peach nectar, orange liqueur, and 1 white cranberry juice in a cocktail shaker. Squeeze juice from lemon wedges into shaker. Place wedges in shaker. Cover with lid, and shake vigorously until thoroughly chilled (about 30 seconds). Strain into a 6- to 8-oz. glass; discard lemon wedges and ice. Top with sparkling white wine. Garnish, if desired.

Note: We tested with Absolut Vodka.

The Lemontini

3 ounces vodka
Splash of lemoncello
Lemon twist for garnish

Pour a splash of lemoncello into a frozen cocktail glass. Swirl the liqueur around in the glass until all surfaces are coated. Shake the vodka in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Throw away any excess lemoncello in the glass. Strain the shaken vodka into the coated cocktail glass. Then garnish with a lemon twist.
