We’re going way back this weekend with our cocktails, all the way back to the 1930s. That’s when the Lion’s Tail cocktail first debuted with an ingredient unlike any we’ve tasted before: pimento dram (aka allspice dram).
As a rich spicy liqueur, allspice dram is the perfect compliment to any fall inspired cocktail to warm you up. Combined with bourbon in a Lion’s Tail, there’s no better mix. Here’s what you’ll need:
- 2 oz. bourbon
- .50 oz. fresh lime juice
- .50 oz. allspice dram
- 1 dash Angostura bitters
- 1 tsp. simple syrup
Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker and serve in a chilled glass. Garnish with a lime twist. Sip and enjoy the spicy libation.
