6006_091510_cocktail_hdAhh, grapes. They make a perfect healthy snack and a wonderful alcoholic beverage (and in many different hues!). But when the snacking and wine tasting comes to a close, we want to make sure that we aren’t completely rejecting the over encompassing power of the little bursts of sweetness that are grapes – and specifically Concord grapes. So bring out the booze and get out the grapes, because we’re making a cocktail (or 5).

Concord Grape Smash: (1 serving)

  • 2 oz. white rum
  • ½ lemon, cut into fourths
  • ¾ oz. simple syrup
  • 4 to 6 mint leaves
  • 4 to 6 concord grapes

Muddle the lemon, mint, and grapes briefly in a cocktail shaker then add the simple syrup and rum. Add ice and shake well. Strain into a glass with ice and then garnish with a few grapes or a mint sprig.
