Cocktail Corner: Christmas Eggnog

WFM_eggnog2For the past month Christmas carols, holiday themed coffee cups, and elaborate store window displays have been a part of the everyday experience. The real question is, how has the build up of anticipation of holiday spirit been affecting you? All of those panic attacks caused by the stress of the holidays can really wear you out after a while. So today we are cutting you a break, it’s time to drop your bags and soak in the holiday cheer again while it lasts with a glass of spiked eggnog in your morning robe and slippers whether its 10 in the morning or 10 at night.

Ingredients:
1 quart eggnog
¼ cup Captain Morgan’s 100-proof spiced rum
¼ cup Kahlua
2 tablespoons Wild Turkey Kentucky bouron
½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Ground cinnamon
Ground cloves
Ground nutmeg
Raw sugar to coat the rim of each glass

Instructions:
1. In a blender, add eggnog, rum, Kahlua, bourbon and vanilla.
2. In a small dish, shake equal amounts of each of the three spices and mix together. Then portion out ¼ teaspoon of the spice mix and add to the eggnog mixture. Hold the rest to sprinkle on the finished filled glasses. Pulse the blender just a few seconds to blend ingredients.
3. Sugar into a small, flat plate. With a little bit of eggnog on your finger, rub the rim of the glass then dip the rim into the sugar.
4. Carefully pour eggnog into each glass and sprinkle a little of the reserved spice mix over the top of each and serve immediately.
