What’s red and white and sweet all over? Our fav holiday treat, candy canes. These festive little suckers serve quite a few purposes; they satisfy our sweet tooths, they bring holiday cheer to any decoration, and they create an amazing peppermint dessert topping. Well, we’re about to add one more job to the candy cane resume: drink inspirer. This week’s cocktail corner is all about getting the most out of the holiday season and serving up candy cane cocktails for all to enjoy. These are perfect in the days leading up to Old Saint Nick’s visit–a sip or two may be just what you need to top off the holiday cheer.

Candy Cane Cocktail
-1 candy cane, crushed
-2 ounces strawberry vodka
-4 dashes white creme de menthe
-2 1/2 ounces cranberry juice
-Ice cubes

Spread the crushed candy canes out on a plate. Wet the top of your martini glass, hold it upside down by the stem, and rotate the rim in the candy to coat it. Combine all remaining ingredients in a shaker, shake, and strain into the glass. Enjoy and celebrate.
