giphyHave you ever thought of a prank so perfect that you saved it in your back pocket for the most ideal occasion? Well the time for tricks and tomfoolery has arrived and it falls on the most appropriate day around – April Fools’ Day. If you’re struggling to come up with some creative shenanigans, that’s just fine; instead set a friend up with a cocktail that isn’t truly what it seems…

April Fools Appletini: (serves 1)

  • 1 ½ oz. Silver Tequila
  • ½ oz. Green Chartreuse
  • 5 Basil leaves
  • 1 oz. Ruby red grapefruit juice
  • ¾ oz. Lime juice
  • ¾ oz. Simple syrup (one part sugar, one part water)
  • Thin apple slice or maraschino cherry for garnish

In a cocktail shaker muddle the simple syrup and basil leaves. Add the remaining ingredients and ice. Shake and strain into a chilled Martini glass. Garnish with a thin apple slice or a maraschino cherry.

Not Manhattan: (serves 1)

  • 1 ½ oz. rum
  • 2 oz. apple juice
  • 3 dahses Peychaud’s Bitters
  • 4 dashes Angostura bitters

Add all ingredients to a mixing glass filled with ice. Stir and strain into a chilled Martini glass. Garnish with a cherry.

“Fruity Martini”: (serves 1)

  • 1 ½ oz. Scotch Whiskey
  • ¾ oz. Açai Liqueur
  • ½ oz. Aperol
  • ¼ oz. Lemon juice
  • Cherry for garnish

Add all ingredients to a mixing glass filled with ice. Shake and strain into a chilled Martini glass. Garnish with a cherry.
