Happy Presidents Day! We love a good three-day weekend just as much as the next American drinker, and what better way to celebrate the upcoming “Monday-less” work week than with a cocktail? To toast the men who’ve led and helped develop our great country we’ve compiled a few fitting cocktail recipes for you to sip on today. And remember if you’re going to take advantage of the car dealership and mattress sales today, prepare these cocktails after you’ve gone out to do all your shopping.

For George Washington, The Cherry-tree Anecdote

• 4 dark sweet cherries, pits and stems removed
• 1/4 oz fresh squeezed lime juice

Directions: Muddle the cherries in a shaker. Add the lime juice, orgeat and bourbon and shake with ice. Double strain (you don’t want any fruit bits in your drink) into rocks glass over ice. Slap a mint sprig and put it in the glass as garnish. Recipe via bourbonbanter.com.
