BeerBurgers-feat

At the end of a long hard day nothing satisfies us more than a 100% American-made burger and a beer. It may seem simple but burgers have become a mainstream, gourmet phenomenon lately, and we’d like to bring it back home. For all you eager beavers out there, here are a couple of solid reasons to start up the grill this week. So sizzle, flip, and sip away with these decadent burger recipes, paired with taste bud awakening brews.

For the true breakfast lover:

Sunny-Side-Up Burger
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
4 large eggs
4 slices of cheddar cheese
8 slices of bacon
8 slices of H-E-B Texas Toast or 4 buns
Ketchup
Mustard
Tabasco

Directions:
Make 4 equal sized patties and heat grill to high. Grill patties about 6 minutes per side or until fully cooked. Melt cheese over burger after flipped, and fry eggs and bacon to your liking (sunny side up or over easy). Toast buns while eggs are cooking. Assemble: bottom bun/toast, patty, bacon, egg. Add ketchup, mustard, and Tabasco. Top with top of bun or left open-face if made with Texas Toast. Recipe found via heb.com

Enjoy your eggs and bacon with a sturdy Founders Brewing’s Breakfast Stout. Better than you average cup o’ joe.

And if you prefer a burger with more of a bite, try this blue cheese inspired recipe:

Blue Cheese-Stuffed Burgers
Ingredients:
Cooking spray
½ cup finely chopped onions
1 lb ground beef
3 tbsps dry breadcrumbs
2 tbsps water
1 egg white, lightly beaten
¼ cup crumpled blue cheese
¼ cup fat-free sour cream
4 English muffins, toasted
4 lettuce leaves
4 slices tomato

Directions:
Coat small nonstick skillet with cooking spray; place over medium heat until hot.  Add onion, sauté 5 minutes or until tender. Combine onion, beef, breadcrumbs, water, and egg white in a large bowl; stir well. Divide mixture into 8 equal portions, spoon 1 tbsp cheese into center of 4 patties; top with remaining patties. Press edges together to seal.

Prepare grill. Place patties on grill rack coated with cooking spray; grill 4 minutes on each side or until done. Spread 1 tbsp sour cream over top half of each muffin, and set aside. Line bottom halves of muffins with lettuce; top each with a tomato slice, a patty, and the top half of the muffin. Recipe found via myrecipes.com
