Our footprints are notorious for following us this season with tracks of mud. Although it may be a bit of a drag, the melting season gives way to some bright colors after months of winter hibernation. So, while we utilize our umbrellas let’s hold out in anticipation for some May blooms. In the meantime, while we listen to the pitter-patter of a rainy day against the window, jump in puddle or two while singing in the rain, and enjoy these delicious beverages!
April Rain Cocktail
Ingredients:
2 oz vodka
½ oz lime juice
½ oz dry vermouth
lime peel for garnish
Directions:
Pour ingredients into cocktail shaker with ice cubes. Shake well. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a lime peel. Recipe found on: cocktails.about.com
Woodchuck’s Oopsy Daisy Cider
Part of Woodchuck’s Out on a Limb Series, this cider is infused with chamomile flowers. The sweet, semi-dry, floral citrus taste is perfect for welcoming the spring.
DIY Flower Cubes
Weather you are drinking a water or a gin and tonic, plop a few flower ice cubes to make the occasion worth celebrating.
Directions:
Wash small (edible)flower buds and herbs. Fill ice tray with water. Place flower bud or herb in each cube container. Place tray in freezer. After fully frozen, remove, and place in beverage.
