Do you ever find yourself getting bored with your go-to booze? When you’ve grown tired of that mundane drink order, we’ll be here to walk you through what’s new and noteworthy this week:
Holy Wooder: Just like any inspired pop-up beer, Holy Wooder, was created to fuel the excitement among the downtown crowd over Pope Francis’ visit to Philly last week. Little did the Philadelphia Brewing Company know just how close the brew would come to the Pope, himself. A half-keg of this limited-run beer was requested and hand delivered to the St. Charles Borromeo Seminary– the seminary hosting Pope Francis this past weekend. We hope the pope enjoyed the clever name and label as much as we did.
Vitamin Vodka: Who said alcohol wasn’t good for you? Proving alcohol can have nutritional value too is Bradley Mitton of Mitton International Wines’ Vitamin Vodka. Like Vitamin Water…but not. The vodka is distilled 12 times from organic Australian sugarcane and water from the Hunter valley outside of Sydney. With a smooth, crisp palate and subtle citrus notes, the new release is scheduled to launch in October throughout central Europe.
Allie’s Double Chocolate Porter: To our pleasure, Narragansett Beer and Allie’s Donuts have teamed up to create their third installment of the “Hi Neighbor Mash-Up” series– Allie’s Double Chocolate Porter. We were sold at the words, “Double Chocolate.” But for those who need more convincing, you can expect the chocolate malt, dark crystal malt and cocoa nibs to bring out the double-chocolate flavor, and a slight hint a vanilla after-taste. This chocolatey brew will be available in liquor stores across New England, the Mid-Atlantic region, North Carolina, Florida, Oregon, Nashville, and Tennessee. Narragansett locals can cheers to the new brew at launch party Oct 1st at Oak Hill Tavern, 6-9pm.
VitaFrute Ginger Pear Mule: VEEV cocktails is expanding their line by debuting the first ever organic ready-to-drink Mule with launch of the Ginger Pear Mule. The premium organic VEEV Spirit is made with all natural ginger and lime flavors with a dash of pear juice. Calorie conscious at just 125 per servng, the iconic mule is a post-prohibition cocktail with a twist. The all-natural cocktail is the fifth release to VEEV’s VitaFruit lineup and is now available nationally at a retail price of $12.99.
Chateau La Paws Wines: Drink for a cause with four new varietal releases from Chateau La Paws Wines– Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot and Sweet Red Blend. What might seem like just another french name that isn’t worth translating is actually an allude to the great cause this wine company supports. “Chateau”– meaning castle, and “La Paws”– meaning “the paws” of our loving furry friends. The award-winning wine company carries out a sustained mission to support rescue dogs in need by helping them find a permanent castle of their own.
