We know that iced tea is a must for when you’re parched and need something with a little more flavor than water. No other beverage will cool you off faster at a cook out or quench your thirst at a neighborhood BBQ. Still, we think a glass of plain old iced tea could be even more refreshing.

Start brewing your tea and fill the pitcher with ice because it’s time to start experimenting with some of our favorite spiked iced tea recipes.

Iced Green Tea Mojito (1 serving)

  • 1 Tbsp. lime juice
  • 4 mint leaves, plus more for garnish
  • 4 arugula leaves
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • 1/2 cup brewed green tea, chilled
  • 1 oz. white rum

Crush the lime juice, mint, arugula, and sugar in a tall glass. Stop once the leaves begin to bruise slightly. Put a few cubes in a glass and then add rum and green tea. Mix,thengarnish with mint and lime.

Citrus Thyme Iced Tea (6 servings)

  • 4 cups boiling water
  • 2 tea bags (preferably black tea)
  • 1 tsp. thyme
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 2 Tbsp. lime juice

Brew the tea and fresh thyme for 5 minutes in boiling water. Remove from heat and mix with the remainder of the ingredients. When you’re ready to enjoy, serve over ice and sweeten to taste. 

Boozy Peach-Lemonade Iced Tea (8 servings)

  • 2 tea bags (preferably black tea)
  • 1/2 cup boiling water
  • 8 mint leaves
  • 4 cups lemonade
  • 1/2 cup vodka
  • 1 lemon slice and 1 peach slice (for garnish)

Boil the water and let the tea bags steep for 4 minutes. In the pitcher, muddle the mint until the leaves are bruised. Pour in tea, lemonade, and vodka. Put the pitcher in the refrigerator until chilled. Add the ice cubes and serve.
