Brewlywed

What could possibly inspire couples to dress up in wedding garb, wait in line for hours, and then get married on the spot in front of a bunch of strangers? Beer, of course.

Last summer, Sam Adams introduced their Brewlywed Ale, a special “bride ale” that celebrates the tradition of a bride brewing beer for her wedding. The limited release beer was such a hit last year they’re bringing it back. The event will take place tomorrow morning at the Sam Adams Brewery in Boston, MA. But this isn’t just any release party. People go crazy for Brewlywed. Three couples actually got married last year and we’re expecting even more will tomorrow.

Here’s a breakdown of the events:

  • 7:00 AM: Get there early. Oh, and wear your wedding best. The first 20 people decked out in bridal gear will be bumped to the front of the line.
  • 9:00 AM: Doors will open and Brewlywed will officially be for sale. Don’t expect the bottles to last though, they only brewed 300 cases. Grab one while you can.
  • 9:00 AM-1:00 PM: The real fun begins. Sam Adams founder Jim Koch will give a toast followed by any wedding ceremonies or vow renewals that are taking place. He’ll even serve as your best man if you need him to. Munch on beer-infused food from local vendors and sample Brewlywed.
  • 1:00 PM: Grab all the Brewlywed you can. If there are any bottles left they’ll be on sale at the brewery ($14.99/750 ml).

If you’re in Boston tomorrow, go to the Sam Adams Brewery. Even if it’s just to witness a bunch of brides and grooms waiting in line for beer at 7 a.m. And if you make it to the event, send us a tweet @DrinkInAmerica since a few team members will be there.
