Boo on us for not knowing about this (or writing about this) sooner. Are we the only ones to just realize that wine corks are recyclable?

Last year, Whole Foods in conjunction with Cork ReHarvest implemented a company-wide wine cork recycling program at its 292 store locations in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.

Like we need another reason to love Whole Foods, or another reason to spend $40 (we can’t walk out of that store for less).

Look for the designated drop boxes for recycling wine corks alongside the other recycling boxes.

The corks collected for recycling at Whole Foods locations will be made into post-consumer products.

Whole Foods is not alone in this effort: American Airlines has partnered with ReCORK America to recycle corks produced from its Admiral Club Lounges.
