Whether or not we care to admit it, many of us are either in love with a cheesy reality show or dedicated to reading gossip magazines found in the check out aisle, no judgment here everyone has their own guilty pleasure. We are so spoiled that now authors and networks who create some of our favorite guilty pleasures are also going the extra mile to provide us with a beverage to accompany our viewing and reading. It was news to us when we discovered that the critically acclaimed television series Downton Abbey, and the bestselling novel 50 Shades of Grey both have a line of featured wine!

ITV and PBS pay tribute to the Grantham family with a small variety of wine inspired by particular characters who have a very strong presence in the series. The collection includes a Claret and a Blanc Bordeaux, a Cabernet Sauvignon, and a Chardonnay. Whether you’re a fan of the witty Dowager Countess or moved by Anna and Bates’s true love, we’re sure you’d love a glass of the inspired wine while watching all the drama unfold every Sunday night.

E.L. James, author of the bestselling romance trilogy 50 Shades of Grey, also released a branded wine with the hope that it would bring Christian Grey’s love for vino to life. The upcoming film adaptation, scheduled to premiere this Valentine’s Day, recently re-sparked interest in “Red Satin” and “White Silk”. Both wines out of California were hand selected by E.L. James herself, and are sold online at $18 a bottle. The “White Silk” was recently awarded a “Sexy” rating from Popsugar, where “Red Satin” did not fare so well with a “Semi-Shameful” rating. Either way we are sure that ladies will look forward to celebrating the films release with a full glass of the sultry vino.

Now, if you’re feeling left out because The Bachelor and InTouch Weekly have both yet to release a wine collection, just remember that any good wine will do when you’re indulging in your favorite guilty pleasure this weekend.
