Today, we’re drinking to Mother Nature and channeling our inner tree hugger in honor of Earth Day. On such a day, it’s only appropriate to be drinking the organic, environmentally friendly way. We got our hands on a bottle of VEEV Acai for the occasion. Here’s what we thought of the certified organic spirit.
From the moment we opened our bottle of VEEV Acai, the superfruit smell had us sold. It was sweet but not overdone and made us want to pour it straight over ice. We did and the flavor was just as delicious as it smelled. The subtle fruit flavors were a mix of raspberries, blueberries and blackberries all together. We’ve don’t munch on acai berries often, but we imagine this is how they taste. Tart but sweet and insanely delicious.
We couldn’t help ourselves; we had to make a cocktail. We took a note from VEEV and mixed up some of their Acai Lemonade. The lemonade, cranberry and acai flavors blended great and we couldn’t stop sipping. Our fellow DIAer dubbed it the perfect “porch drink,” to sit outside and enjoy during the upcoming warm weather.
At around $30 a bottle, the liqueur is a bit pricey but the flavor is worth it, especially if you’re looking for a new summer cocktail. Pick up a bottle for yourself.
