acaiAs of Monday, June 20th, summer has officially begun. And you know what that means? It’s time to diet…or at least pretend to diet. What’s more of a perfect way to pretend diet than adding this Amazonian superfood, indigenous to the Brazilian diet, to a cocktail. Acai, although wildly mispronounced, is one of the few fruits known to man to be naturally sugar free, full of healthy fats, and infused with antioxidants. Having a similar natural chemical balance to that of wine, Acai acts as the perfect addition to a drink. So keep on trying to get to the gym and eat healthier, but in the meantime let’s be real, we all need a little vodka in our lives.

Acai-Blueberry Mojito

  • 10 Mint leaves
  • 10 Fresh blueberries
  • .5 oz Simple syrup
  • 2 oz Van Gogh Acai-Blueberry Vodka
  • 1oz Fresh lime juice
  • Club Soda
  • Vodka of your choice
  • 1 Mint sprig
  • 1 skewer of blueberries

In a shaker, muddle the mint, blueberries and simple syrup. Add the vodka and lime juice, and fill with ice. Shake well and strain into a highball or rocks glass filled with fresh ice. Top with club soda and garnish with a mint sprig and or a skewer of additional blueberries.
