A Hot Toddy is the perfect accessory to a cold winter’s day all in one mug. Traditionally a Toddy is made with whiskey, but today we are going to teach you how to make this belly-warming adult beverage with alternative liquors. So shoo away the frostbite and enjoy the on-coming winter season with these added recipes to your repertoire of hot cocktails:

For Gin Drinkers:

INGREDIENTS:
1 1/4 oz Tanqueray London Dry Gin
3/4 oz lemon juice
2 oz boiling water
1 tsp sugar
Cinnamon stick for garnish

Build the ingredients into a wine goblet. Stir well and garnish with a cinnamon stick.

For Apple Lovers:
Hanny’s Hot Apple Toddy: Contributed by St. John Frizell

INGREDIENTS:
Boiling water
1.5 oz Luxardo Amaretto di Saschira
8 oz Apple cider, piping hot
Heavy cream, shaken until thick but pourable
Cinnamon
Mug

Fill a 10-oz mug with boiling water. When the mug is hot, pour out the water and add the amaretto and cider. Top with a layer of cream. Use a Microplane to grate fresh cinnamon on top.

For Rum Drinkers:
Rum Hot Toddy

INGREDIENTS:
1 shot of spiced rum
1 lemon slice
1 tablespoon of honey
1 cinnamon stick
Boiling water
Sugar for rim of glass
Optional – a little butter to make a hot buttered rum

Dip rim of mug in water and coat in sugar. Add all ingredients before pouring boiling water into mug. Stir and Enjoy.
